✦ Who is this conference for?

Our conference is open to anyone (professionals and amateurs) with an interest in playing music for conscious dance. We will cover mostly DJ-related subjects but will also include Ceremony Leading and Event Production for those interested facilitating and organising.

✦ What's the difference between your DJ conference and DJ training?

This conference is by no means a replacement to our DJ training but rather a way for us to get together, connect and share. Throughout the week, we'll be offering a selection of taster classes, panel discussions, live DJ sets and tie in with our existing Ecstatic Dance events with our communities from all over the world.

✦ How is the conference different from last year?

We've redesigned the conference to be more compact (condensed over 4 days instead of 7) but extending the length of each session (75 min) to allow space for a good Q&A after each class/panel. There will be 2 sessions going on simultaneously in differents rooms: the Auditorium (main room) and the DJ Lab (breakout room). Want to attend ALL the sessions? No worries -we'll be recording all sessions and videos will be made available to all those who pay the suggested minimum donation!

✦ Do I need any specific software/hardware to participate?

No. We've designed this conference to be accessible to everyone so you don't need any software or hardware to attend any of the sessions. Our teachers will be using Traktor Pro 3 from Native Instruments for demos, but everything they will be teaching can be done from any other DJ software.

✦ How much does it cost?

In these times of economic crisis, many of us are finding ourselves with a reduced or no income, so to make the conference accessible to all, we're offering it on a donation-based model. We suggest a donation of €35/day or €129 for the full Conference Pass, but you can give as little or as much as you wish. Your donations will be used to support our self-employed DJs and organisers, all of whom are spending a lot of their time and energy putting together this event.

✦ Will the sessions be recorded?

Yes. We will record all the classes & panels and they will made available to all those who have sent a donation of €129 or more. If you donated less and wish to purchase the recordings after the conference, you'll be able to pay the difference to access them.

With over 20 years of combined DJ experience, their joint sets are skillfully crafted and mixed, full of energy and a truly unique experience.

About Alex Unger -
Alex Unger is a music producer and DJ based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Known for his diverse and eclectic taste, Alex consistently delivers the freshest sounds of the underground ranging from funk, bass music, house, world, downtempo, and just about everything in between.

Alex has been a resident of Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City since its inception and has played over 20 unique journeys since 2015. In the past year, he has shared the stage with world-renowned artists such as Liquid Stranger, The Floozies, Wuki, The Funk Hunters, Baynk, Chromeo, Droeloe, and more.

About Amritaji -
Amritaji (Raj Inder Dhillon) has been spinning psychedelic worldbeat and bass music since 2007. Coming from her roots in psytrance, she has been playing at electronic music events, festivals and Ecstatic Dances around the world for over a decade. Her unique style of weaving the traditional music of Eastern and indigenous cultures with electronic bass and dance music started with her love for sonic-induced states of trance after practicing traditional Sanskrit Kirtan when she was in high school. A lifelong musician, Raj Inder is passionate about blending traditional and modern music, giving her audiences a distinct sonic experience of deep bass lines, Eastern melodies and uplifting grooves. Her passion is for creating sacred dance journeys to offer a sonic space for healing, free and authentic expression, and fun! She continues to expand the Ecstatic Dance community, and to spread her love for conscious dance and movement across the globe.

Raj Inder founded Ecstatic Dance Milwaukee in 2016. She currently lives in Salt Lake City, where she is a resident DJ and DJ trainer at Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City. She is an international DJ trainer with Dance The Medicine, and an ambassador for Ecstatic Dance Records.

Ecstatic Dance is a free form dance party happening every Friday, rooted in the intention of a safe, sacred, and fun experience for all! It is an expressive and accepting atmosphere allowing for deep journeys into self-awareness, spirit, and connections with others. All states of being are welcomed, whether happy, sad, expressive or not...the intention is medicine for all. Altar space is lovingly offered with the invitation to invoke the sacred within yourself. This is an alcohol-free event with no conversation and no phones on the dance floor. Mid to low volume conversation is welcome in the social café zone.

Come gather with us once again in one of the world's most beautiful festival settings. Join an intimate group of fans, friends, family and Jumpsuit artists! 

Our 2nd Annual Jumpsuit Family Gathering will be held once again within the majestic confines of the Taos Mesa Brewing Amphitheater in beautiful Taos, NM! Another full weekend awaits, packed with workshops, yoga, song, dance, ceremony and celebration amidst the backdrop of the Sangre De Cristo mountains of northern New Mexico!

Jumpsuit Records strives for community, to bring people together to celebrate in song and nature in some of our favorite places around the world. Those of you who were there to expereince our first year in Taos know just how much magic we all generated together throughout the weekend! With many of our workshops led by the musicians on our line-up we all got to know each other so well and learned so much together. This is truly a grass-roots gathering at its core... it was a common sight to see one of our crew playing their heart out on stage one minute, chopping firewood for the bonfire another minute and then connecting with one another in the crowd the next. We lean towards the progressive and unconventional, putting the focus on uplifting art and partying with a purpose. We know that our extended family covets an intimate festival experience, one that fosters connection, encourages participation, offers education and the promise of invigorating life experiences. With those understandings and a nod towards a fresh take on the conventional festival model, The Polish Ambassador and Jumpsuit Records are thrilled to head back to the expansive beauty of the high deserts of New Mexico!

The Taos Mesa Brewing Amphitheater is an astonishing indoor/outdoor venue with limited onsite camping. To preserve intimacy and create a vibrant pop-up community, less than 1000 festival tickets that include camping will be offered. The views from the venue and the onsite campground are some of the finest in the universe. For those who venture off-site, the resplendent Rio Grande River Gorge is merely a few minutes away. Downtown Taos, NM is also extremely close-by, and we encourage people to explore the historic Taos pueblo and its surrounding culture!

Ecstatic Dance SLC with Shaman's Dream {Kundalini Yoga with Raj Inder}

Amritaji, a talented DJ and Kundalini Yoga teacher, will be leading an energizing and intentional yoga class before Shamans Dream Ecstatic Dance. 

Kundalini Yoga is the Yoga of Awareness. The practice combines breath work, yoga postures, and meditation for a powerful and activated practice.

Sahuna Love (Shaman's Dream) is a Music Producer, Percussionist, DJ and Co-Founder of the Ecstatic Dance Retreat Hawaii.

Shamans Dream Artist Bio:

Sahuna Love is a talented multi-percussionist, performer, DJ, music producer, retreat and ecstatic dance facilitator driven by the healing rhythm of the drum and the creative expression of the sacred.

Since 1995, Shaman’s Dream, Sahuna's multi-faceted music collective, has been at the forefront of the yoga and ecstatic dance music scene and has produced some of the key albums used in the yoga and dance industry. As a producer and the musical director of the “Shaman’s Dream World Groove Ensemble”, Sahuna along with Micheline Berry, has facilitated hundreds of ecstatic dance/ “live” world music concerts, plus countless live music for yoga classes and ritual retreats.

Sahuna’s other projects included being the co-founder of Yogitunes – www.yogitunes.com – an online digital music store that featuring yoga inspired music and playlists from all over the world, Co-Producer of Ecstatic Retreats – www.ecstaticretreat.com and co-producer of Desert Dwellers projects –Waves, Flames and Roots.

Sahuna has also produced, assistant directed and musically supervised over 30 health related instructional DVD’s for such teachers as: Shiva Rea, Sharon Gannon, Duncan Wong, Hemalaya Behl and Desiree Rumbaugh.

As a percussionist, Sahuna has performed with Bluetech, Desert Dwellers, Kaminanda, Jai Uttal, Krishna Das, Dave Stringer, C.C. White, David Starfire, FreQ Nasty, Dub Kirtan Allstars, Donna De Lory, Suzanne Sterling, Tina Malia, Jaya Lakshmi, Michael Kang, Chris Berry and many others.

Sahuna is presently DJing and performing for festivals and yoga/ ecstatic dance communities all over the world. She first fell in love with sonic-induced states of trance after attending traditional Sanskrit Kirtan with Ragani in Milwaukee, WI. Having been a long-time fan of electronic music, she began to notice the meditative states that certain electronic music had and the similarities with the ancient chant and trance practices of indigenous and Eastern cultures. Amritaji's music blends together the ancient and modern methods of creating sacred states of consciousness, in order to connect with our inner Divine Truth and knowledge. She received her certification as a Kundalini Yoga teacher in May of 2013 and uses the vibrations of the Naad (Sacred Sound Current) in her DJ sets. She founded Ecstatic Dance Milwaukee in early 2016 and facilitates and DJs for these events. She completed Ecstatic Dance Oakland's first Ecstatic Dance leadership training program in July 2016. Experiencing Amritaji's music will take you on a journey deep within and get you grooving both in your body and soul.
